Caffyns - Service Advisor

  • When did you start your apprenticeship? I started my apprenticeship in August of 2016 after working previously in the healthcare sector, a very different environment to work in but from a customer service aspect I found there to be many transferable skills. I then completed my apprenticeship in March 2019 after accrediting as a Volkswagen Group service advisor.
  • Why did you choose to do an apprenticeship? I predominately chose an apprenticeship due to the freedom that comes along with it and the flexibility to earn and learn. I find that apprenticeships do not have the normal constraints that a college course does.
  • What’s been your favourite part about the apprenticeship? I particularly enjoyed the block release weeks in Milton Keynes at the Volkswagen National Learning centre. This was a great opportunity to network with others that are all at the same stage in their career as yourself.
  • What advice would you give to someone thinking about doing an apprenticeship? My advice would be to go for it, I was 26 when I started as an apprentice showing that apprenticeships are not only for school leavers, they are also there for people looking for a career change!
