WATER POWERED VEHICLE WINS SYTNER’S ENTERPRISE COMPETITION
Every year, Drive My Career’s member Sytner Group Recruitment Team hosts in collaboration with the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) a Business & Enterprise competition that is open to schools and colleges across the UK.
Encouraging students to get creative, the competition challenges them to design, brand and launch what they think is the car of the future. All of the fantastic entries were judged by both the IMI and Sytner Group, with this year’s winning team being announced as ‘H2O Vehicles’, a team from The Kingsley School, Leamington Spa.
In-keeping with the current automotive climate, H2O Vehicles created an eco-friendly vehicle that could be powered by undrinkable water, as oppose to traditional power sources. Staying with the eco-friendly theme, the team decided that 10% of all profits would go to charities that provide and improve water quality around the world.
Along with the eco-friendly powertrain, the team added extras to the vehicle such as an in-built vacuum cleaner and phone chargers in the seats (the latter being possibly the most important!). After designing the car, the team created a logo, strapline and advertising campaign – which used Leonardo DiCaprio as an ambassador – for their vehicle.
Team H2O Vehicles were treated to a fantastic day at Jaguar Land Rover’s Experience Centre in Solihull. Driven around the course by some of the world’s best professional drivers, the team traversed challenging terrain, daring descents, muddy slopes and even a pivoting bridge.
